Wow! At the start of April we launched two new shirts, one designed by our newest band The Xcerts and the second was a reprint of The Arteries design in some brand new colours! We are very pleased to announce the following amounts were raised in the past month:
The Xcerts have raised £130 for The Marfan Trust. This is an incredible amount to have raised in just their first month so thank you to everyone who ordered a shirt!
The Arteries raised £60 which means their total amount donated to The Mumbles Lifeboat Station is now at £310!
The Cut Ups and Great Cynics both raised another £20 to their charities. The Cut Ups have now raised £250 for PAPYRUS (Prevention of Young Suicide) and Great Cynics have raised £230 for The Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Thanks again to everyone who supported us this month. Remember to visit our store to view all our shirts by the above bands as well as our own Common Goals logo shirts which helps us raise money to get another design printed up by a new band!

NEW SHIRTS IN STOCK - THE XCERTS / THE ARTERIES
They have arrived! Brand new shirts by The Xcerts and The Arteries available in the store now.
The Xcerts
First up we have a brand new design from 'The Xcerts'. They are one of our favourite bands so we are understandably excited to have them involved in the project. Their chosen charity is The Marfan Trust, so ALL profits from the sales of this shirt will be donated to them (read more about how the project works here). Check out the shirt below!

We caught up with Tom (drums) to find out a bit more about the shirt:
Tom: A dear friend of ours suffered from Marfan Syndrome and passed away
late last year, he was a long term friend of Murray and Jordan and I had
the pleasure of knowing him since I joined the band. He was a very
talented individual and has coordinated and designed
our artwork since the band began. There are 10,000 Marfan syndrome
sufferers currently in the UK alone and over a third of them die in
young adulthood, The Marfan Trust funds research into the cause and
prevention of Marfan Syndrome and we as a band thought
it a worthy charity to donate to.
CG: Who designed the shirt and what gave you the idea for the design?
Tom: I designed this shirt as a homage to H.G Wells' The Invisible Man
and to comic book artists such as Dave Gibbons and John Romita. The
hand-drawn image is based on Gibbons' Rorschach character from the
seminal comic book Watchman, combined with the invisible
man/ film noir theme.
CG: What are the Xcerts looking forward to this year
Tom: We have been taking time off from our usual extensive touring schedule
to write new material for our next record and are looking to record in
the next few months. The record will be released later on this year and
we are very excited to unleash it upon the
world!
The Arteries
Secondly we have reprinted the Arteries shirt. The original black and white design has very nearly sold out, but rather than get the same again we decided to change up the colours! Check out the awesome new version with red ink on grey!
The shirt has already helped the Arteries raise £270 for The Mumbles Lifeboat Station and we are sure that this new print will help them raise even more!
As usual, Common Goals can be found at NGNG's next Handmade Arcade fair on Saturday 6th April, come and say Hello/find out more about us :)

COMPETITION! Best Album Cover?
Win yourself this awesome pair of t-shirts!
Here at Common Goals we are big fans of Jamie Morrison. Not only does he play bass in Swansea's finest punkrock band The Arteries, but he's also the creative force behind GOT VITAMIN C! - designing shirts and album covers for bands such as Dead to Me, Above Them and The Flatliners.
To celebrate his work we've decided to run a little competition to giveaway two shirts designed by the man himself. Firstly we have the 'Born Free' shirt that he designed for No Guts No Glory, and secondly one of our own Common Goals 'Logo' shirts. Of course, we will also chuck in some Common Goals badges and stickers too, all designed by Jamie!
To enter the competition all you need to do is comment on the photo on our facebook here with what you think is the best album cover you have ever seen. Don’t worry if your answer has already been mentioned, we will be picking the random winner out of a hat so you just need to comment to get your name in there! The competition will close a week today, at 5pm on Monday the 25thof February and we will do the draw that evening.
Good Luck!
P.S. don't forget to give the Common Goals facebook page a 'like' while you're there!

Hurry though as the offer will end on Friday the 1st of February.
The end of 2012.....
So 2012 is over! Thanks to everyone who bought a shirt, blogged about us, tweeted about us, wore a badge and everything else people did to help spread the word about us. Cheers!
We launched the project back in June and here is how we did over the last 7 months.
The Arteries raised £220 for The Mumbles Lifeboat Association
Great Cynics raised £210 for The Motor Neurone Disease Association
The Cut Ups raised £230 for PAPYRUS-UK (Prevention of Young Suicide)
So overall Common Goals raised a grand total of £660 for the three charities! Needless to say we are incredibly happy with how the project has gone so far and hopefully 2013 will be even better!
New Year = New shirt/band design. Coming real soon!
